What do you do daily to get physical? The world we live in is full of sitting around. As I write this, I am sitting at my desk at work listening to a zoom call. Throughout the pandemic a lot of peoples jobs transitioned into doing exactly what I am doing now. I don't know about you, but I am totally over zoom calls, and just want to have in person meetings again. There is something about being around people in the physical sense that just doesn't work through zoom calls.
Again, I will ask you what do you do daily to get physical? I'll share one of my personal favorite workouts. I've grown to love sandbags. They are my go to item for working out and I just make stuff up as I go. So one of my favorite workouts consists of a jog of just over 2 miles with a 35lb sandbag on my shoulders! But that's not all!! At every intersection along the run, I will stop and do something. Some days that's burpees, other days it's squats, etc. During the 2 mile run if I stop and do 5 reps of something, I end up doing over 100 reps along the route. Needless to say, I torch calories and end up knowing that I had a solid and difficult workout.
I didn't start with the 35lb bag though. Initially I started just by jogging and doing it. Then I added in a 15lb weight vest, followed by a 20lb bag. So this isn't something I'd just jump right into without working your way up. As with any other workout, you have to ramp into it.
I'd love to hear what you all do for your workouts!
