Free Your Mind Friday! Today I want to share just a few thoughts that I've had lately. I am not going to share a quote from someone else.

The world we live in right now is insane. The virus, mandates, inflation, potential war, hatred, anger, evil, etc. I am blown away by the things I hear about and the things I see that are happening all over the world, and how we have almost become uncivilized.

With that being said, to those of us that are still able to critically think and formulate our own opinions on how the world works....it's up to us to help steady the ship. It is becoming a lost art to be able to have civil conversation about things we may not agree on. I feel as though I am willing to hear differing opinions on things in life. There have been times that my mind has been changed! But it didn't happen through anger and hatred, it happened through civil conversation that allowed both sides to be heard and I realized my viewpoint was very narrow and my mind needed to be opened.

This is where Free Your Mind Friday comes from. I believe as a society we all benefit from the ability to have a free mind and to allow our minds to be changed or grow. Growth doesn't come from a mind that is closed and opinions that aren't always on the table to be changed.

A major hurdle in life is the fact that we all live in our own "bubble." Meaning we think "my life is normal and most people view and experience life like I do." This is beyond flawed! If you take a moment and put yourself in someone else's shoes you will realize quickly how inaccurate this point of view is. I love to travel and experience different cultures and places. We have started to only stay in VRBO or AirBnB locations because I like the ability to get a glimpse into the "neighborhood" and not just the tourist areas. You get to see and get a view of what life might be for those that live there. I've also been able to experience being in some seriously unsafe areas and see and feel what life might potentially be if you had to live or even raise a family in those areas. It was eye opening and mind expanding for me to be able to see these things first hand.

My point is this folks, free your mind and allow yourself to look at the world from different perspectives. When we allow ourselves to see the world this way, we will have more compassion and love for all of those around us. Everyone is on their own personal life journey and let's be honest, Life is HARD! Don't believe that because someone has a big house, nice cars, money, that life isn't hard. EVERYONE....I repeat EVERYONE has their struggles in life. Let's show compassion and love for those around us and make this world a better place with less hate and anger. On this weekend I send my love and heart of caring into the world with hope for a better more caring society.

Life is HARD! The life journey is full of pitfalls and struggles. Don't underestimate the difficulty of life for others based on your opinion. Support, love, and show compassion for others and the WORLD benefits!
